Evgenia Asanova

Evgenia Asanova is a mezzo-soprano opera singer with a rich career in prestigious venues. She started her musical studies as a pianist before focusing on classical singing.

 

In 2014, she debuted at the State Theater of Rostov-on-Don (Russia), later becoming a soloist at the Rostov State Philharmonic. From 2015 to 2018, she was part of the Bolshoi Theatre’s Young Artists Program (Moscow, Russia). In 2017, she toured France and Austria with the National Orchestra of Capitole de Toulouse under Tugan Sokhiev and performed Eugene Onegin at festivals in Aix-en-Provence and Savonlinna.

 

In 2018, she won First Prize at the G. Ots International Festival-Competition (St.Petersburg, Russia) and was nominated for the Chigiana Award (Italy). In 2019, she performed Olga (Eugene Onegin) and the title role in Carmen in Seoul.

 

From 2019 to 2021, she was a guest soloist at Staatsoper Hannover, performing Bradamante (Alcina), Hansel (Hansel and Gretel), and Carmen (Carmen). Same period she was giving recitals with conductors such as Vladimir Spivakov, YuriBashmet, Paul Goodwin, and Daniele Rustioni.

 

In 2021,she debuted at the Salzburg Festival as Die Vertraute (Elektra) and became a semi-finalist in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition.

 

Since 2021, she is a soloist at Bühnen Bern, expanding her repertoire with roles such as Idamante (Idomeneo), Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande), Romeo (I Capuleti e iMontecchi), Dido (Dido and Aeneas) and others.
