Mila Lyutskanova is a Bulgarian-born artist. She is an actor, performer, director and writer, and has been working both in state theaters and in the independent scene of Bulgaria. She studied Cultural Studies in Sofia University and holds a BA in Acting. Currently she is doing an MA program in Expanded Theater in the Hochschule der Künste Bern. She holds an IKAR Award for Debut (2016), an IKAR Award for Puppetry as part of the Bulgarian team of Avenue Q (2018) and a supporting award of the National Competition for Debut Literature for her poetry book “The End of Words” (2024). Her works have been displayed in ACT Festival for Independent Theater Sofia and ACT Performance Festival Bern. She is currently working on projects in Bern, Vienna and Sofia.
Mila is interested in stirring genres and artistic tools. She is inspired by paradoxes, ambivalence, darkness, humor, and likes to address the audience by mixing performative and non-performative.
